Israeli defense company Plasan has introduced three new protection solutions designed to address the key threats that have exposed armored vehicle vulnerabilities in modern warfare, including drone attacks from above, landmine explosions, and shaped-charge munitions.
The newly revealed systems are ATHENA (Advanced Thickening Energetic Armour), TAPS (Top Attack Protection System), and LAPS (Leg Active Protection System).
ATHENA is a vehicle-integrated armor module developed to counter shaped-charge jets, rocket-propelled grenades, and explosively formed penetrators. Unlike conventional solutions, the system contains no energetic materials while providing enhanced protection against some of the most challenging battlefield threats.
