QinetiQ has secured an £18-million ($24 million) contract from the UK’s National Armaments Director Group to conduct testing and assurance work for the British Army’s new Remote Controlled Howitzer 155 (RCH155) artillery system. The evaluation program will assess ammunition safety, barrel wear, and environmental performance under extreme conditions. Testing will be carried out at QinetiQ-operated Ministry of Defence facilities across the UK. The RCH155, developed by KNDS through UK-German cooperation, combines an automated 155mm gun module with the Boxer armored vehicle platform, providing rapid-fire capability, mobility, and long-range precision engagement up to 70 kilometers.
