The US on Friday approved a $4 billion deal to supply Patriot missiles to Gulf partner Qatar, alongside nearly $1 billion worth of precision-guided weapons systems for Israel.
In notices sent to Congress, the State Department said both transactions align with US foreign policy and national security interests amid continuing tensions in the Middle East.
