HII has been awarded a five-year contract valued at $418 million by the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide maintenance and repair services for elevators and cargo handling systems aboard US Navy aircraft carriers and amphibious warfare ships.

Under the agreement, HII’s Mission Technologies division will deliver engineering support, maintenance services, and technical repairs for shipboard elevator systems and related equipment. The contract also covers specialized training for Navy personnel and the deployment of rapid-response maintenance teams to support fleet operations.

Work under the program will be conducted across locations within the continental United States as well as at forward-deployed naval installations worldwide. The award builds on HII’s extensive experience in supporting naval elevator systems and is intended to ensure sustained fleet readiness throughout the contract period.

The latest contract follows a series of recent awards secured by HII across multiple defense sectors, including autonomous maritime systems, submarine technologies, and advanced defense support services.

Earlier this month, HII partnered with Bayou Metal Supply & Manufacturing to establish a dedicated production line in Louisiana for the serial production of the ROMULUS unmanned surface vessel. The facility will manufacture critical structural components for the artificial intelligence-enabled platform before final assembly is completed by Breaux Brothers Enterprises.

In April, the US Navy selected HII to develop a torpedo tube launch and recovery system that will allow submarines to deploy and recover REMUS autonomous underwater vehicles using standard torpedo tubes.

Earlier this year, HII was also among 12 companies selected for the Advanced Technology Support Program V, a 10-year, $25.4 billion multiple-award contract administered by the Defense Microelectronics Activity. The initiative supports engineering, prototyping, microelectronics development, and technology modernization programs across the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
