The US Army has awarded L3Harris Technologies a contract valued at up to $465 million to deliver its next-generation binocular night-vision system, reinforcing efforts to enhance battlefield visibility for ground troops. The agreement covers the Binocular Night Observation Device program and extends over a seven-year period.

Under the contract, L3Harris will supply its NOVA helmet-mounted system, engineered to provide enhanced situational awareness in all weather and lighting conditions through advanced image intensifier technology. The NOVA system builds on existing US military night-vision capabilities and is designed to meet operational requirements for the next two decades.

The program forms part of a wider initiative to replace legacy optical systems with lighter, digitally enhanced binocular solutions across frontline units.

This award comes amid continued US Army investments in night-fighting modernization. In recent years, L3Harris has delivered more than 20,000 units of the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular system as part of broader soldier capability upgrades.

Alongside L3Harris, Elbit Systems has played a significant role in US night-vision programs, supplying systems across multiple procurement cycles for infantry and special operations forces.
