German Armed Forces has awarded Rheinmetall a contract worth 1.015 billion euros ($1.18 billion) for the delivery of more than 2,000 military logistics vehicles.
The procurement falls under a seven-year framework agreement signed in 2024 covering up to 6,500 vehicles. The latest order includes roughly 1,000 8×8 trucks with a 15-ton payload capacity, alongside about 1,000 4×4 and 6×6 vehicles designed for 3.5-ton and 5-ton payloads respectively.
Deliveries will be handled by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles, with production of the unprotected platforms set to begin in the first half of 2026. Most of the vehicles are expected to be delivered before the end of the year.
The trucks are based on Rheinmetall’s HX family, a military-focused vehicle range known for its durability, rugged construction, and strong off-road performance.
The deal follows another major order placed in August 2025, when Rheinmetall secured a 770-million-euro ($894-million) contract to supply more than 1,300 vehicles under the same framework agreement.
