Perennial Autonomy has received a US military contract worth up to $500 million to support counter-drone operations through AI-enabled interception systems. The agreement includes platforms such as the Merops interceptor drone, Bumblebee quadcopter, and Hornet strike drone, all designed to detect, track, and neutralize aerial threats. The systems combine computer vision, radio-frequency sensing, and jam-resistant communications to improve effectiveness in complex operational environments. The award reflects the Pentagon’s increasing investment in AI-powered counter-UAS technologies for both domestic and overseas force protection missions.
