Med-Eng, a subsidiary of Cadre Holdings, has secured contracts worth $86.4 million to deliver blast-attenuation seating systems for Mowag Eagle V military vehicles produced by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS).

The two agreements, valued at $74.6 million and $11.8 million, will supply specialized seats for Eagle V 4×4 command-and-control vehicles and Eagle V 6×6 protected ambulance variants. Production for the larger Eagle V 4×4 program is scheduled to start in 2026 and continue until 2031, while deliveries for the Eagle V 6×6 vehicles are expected to run from 2026 to 2029.

Med-Eng’s blast-attenuation seats are engineered to protect vehicle crews from explosive threats such as mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). These blasts often produce severe vertical acceleration followed by a downward impact when the vehicle lands again. The company’s seat designs aim to reduce the forces transferred to drivers and passengers during such events.

The firm has previously supplied blast-mitigation seating solutions for both wheeled and tracked military vehicles, supporting new production as well as retrofit programs.

Eagle Fleet Expansion

The Mowag Eagle armored vehicle family has been widely adopted by several European armed forces in recent years. In December 2025, Germany placed major orders with GDELS for both Eagle V 4×4 and Eagle V 6×6 variants under framework agreements covering up to 5,000 vehicles, with nearly 3,000 units ordered immediately.

The Switzerland has also been a key operator of the platform, receiving additional Eagle V 6×6 reconnaissance vehicles in 2019. Meanwhile, Denmark selected Eagle vehicles in 2017 for its reconnaissance and light armored vehicle procurement programs.
