Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems has been awarded a $1.4-billion contract to support a large-scale military modernization program for an undisclosed European customer.

The five-year agreement focuses on enhancing battlefield maneuverability and survivability while reflecting Europe’s growing emphasis on integrated combat networks and drone-centric warfare capabilities.

According to Elbit, the package includes unmanned autonomous systems, software-defined radios, ground-based electronic warfare platforms, electro-optical reconnaissance and targeting technologies, and precision-guided munitions for both artillery and air-to-ground operations.

Elbit Strengthens European Presence

The new contract expands Elbit Systems’ growing defense portfolio across Europe over the past year.

In March, the company partnered with KNDS to promote the EuroPULS rocket artillery system to European militaries.

Earlier in February, Elbit secured international contracts worth approximately $435 million to provide advanced land warfare systems and contribute to the development of new defense capabilities over a six-year period.

In January, the company also received contracts valued at around $150 million to supply its J-MUSIC Directed Infrared Countermeasures systems for the aircraft fleets of multiple European customers.
