L3Harris Technologies and Airbus have been awarded contracts worth a combined 1.5 billion Canadian dollars ($1.07 billion) to support and sustain the Royal Canadian Air Force’s new CC-330 Husky tanker-transport fleet.

L3Harris secured two contracts totaling around 1.1 billion Canadian dollars ($789.2 million), covering long-term sustainment and materiel support services over the next ten years. Airbus, meanwhile, received a 374 million Canadian dollar ($268.3 million) contract to provide engineering expertise and airworthiness support to ensure the fleet remains fully operational.

The Canadian government stated that these agreements align with NATO defense spending commitments while strengthening the domestic aerospace and defense sector and ensuring sustained military readiness.

The contracts are expected to support approximately 720 jobs across Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta, while contributing about 90 million Canadian dollars ($64.5 million) annually to the national economy.

These investments will enable the RCAF to carry out key missions such as aerial refueling, transport of personnel and equipment, and medical evacuation. The CC-330 Husky fleet—comprising nine aircraft, including four new and five converted Airbus A330s—will replace the aging CC-150 Polaris aircraft that have been in service since the 1990s. Deliveries began in 2023, with additional A330 aircraft expected from 2027.
