The US House has allocated $10 million for the development of a next-generation radar system at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.

The funding supports CHAOS Industries’ ASTRIA system, a mobile radar designed to monitor multiple targets simultaneously during testing and pilot training. Instead of relying on a single costly radar, ASTRIA employs “coherent distributed networking,” linking several smaller, affordable sensors into a unified network.

CHAOS Industries noted that system performance scales with the number of connected nodes, offering expanded range and improved tracking accuracy. Once deployed, ASTRIA will allow pilots to train in scenarios that more closely simulate real-world air and missile threats, enhancing combat preparedness for US forces.
