United States Air Force has chosen L3Harris Technologies to develop key components of a secure digital infrastructure designed to strengthen the military’s command-and-control (C2) capabilities.
The initiative focuses on the Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS), a service-wide network intended to integrate and streamline data from multidomain sensors and combat systems to improve operational decision-making.
ABMS enables the real-time exchange of information between platforms, sensors, and military personnel, enhancing battlefield situational awareness during operations.
Advancing Command-and-Control Capabilities
The latest award follows a $150-million contract secured by L3Harris Technologies in April to support systems that collect, process, and distribute space-based surveillance intelligence for the United States Space Force.
During the same month, the company also introduced a new satellite communications modem capable of linking data between nodes operating across multiple orbital layers.
Earlier, in March, L3Harris reached another milestone in its communications technology programs after delivering the 100,000th M-Code GPS receiver component for US and allied military forces.
The secure positioning technology is designed to maintain reliable navigation and timing capabilities in heavily jammed and electronically contested environments.
