L3Harris Technologies has demonstrated the integration of its Red Wolf launched effects system with the Skyraider II International platform, focusing on compatibility between the aircraft and payload. The exercise primarily assessed physical fit and system-level integration, marking a step forward in validating how launched effects can be deployed from light attack aircraft. These systems—typically small, expendable unmanned assets—are designed to extend operational capabilities such as sensing, communications, electronic warfare, and strike functions beyond the host platform.
The Red Wolf system is engineered for multi-platform deployment, enabling use across both aerial and ground-based launch systems depending on mission demands. Meanwhile, the Skyraider II International is tailored for light attack and special operations, capable of operating from austere environments while carrying modular payloads.
This demonstration builds upon earlier integration efforts and contributes to ongoing evaluations of launched effects within open systems architectures. Such architectures allow rapid upgrades or replacement of mission systems as operational needs evolve. While the test does not signal an imminent operational rollout, it highlights continued progress in aligning emerging unmanned technologies with flexible, modular aircraft platforms designed for distributed operations.
