German defense company Diehl Defence has unveiled its latest mobile Short-Range Air Defense (SHORAD) system at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2026. Known as the IRIS-T SLS MK4, the platform combines radar, command-and-control functions, launch capabilities, and interceptors on a single vehicle, creating a fully integrated air defense solution.
Diehl describes the system as an “all-in-one” platform designed to simplify deployment and enhance operational flexibility. Compared with earlier versions, the IRIS-T SLS MK4 offers an eightfold increase in payload capacity, significantly boosting its ability to engage multiple aerial threats and improve overall battlefield effectiveness.
