The Indian Army has officially received its first batch of Apache helicopters from Boeing under a U.S. Foreign Military Sale agreement approved in 2017.

This initial delivery represents half of the total six helicopters being transferred, all built to the advanced AH-64E configuration. According to Indian defense officials, the three helicopters will be stationed in Jodhpur to bolster regional security, as reported by local outlet Mint.

Equipped with a next-generation defensive suite and a 30mm chain gun, the Apache is a frontline precision strike platform capable of deploying a wide range of multi-domain missiles.

Powered by twin General Electric T700 turboshaft engines, the helicopter can reach speeds of up to 300 kilometers (186 miles) per hour and has an operational range of 500 kilometers (311 miles). It spans 18 meters (59 feet) in length with a rotor diameter of 15 meters (49 feet).

The Indian Air Force already operates 22 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters across two squadrons, actively supporting missions in the northern and western sectors.
