Teledyne FLIR Defense has been awarded an $11.2 million contract to provide its R80D SkyRaider unmanned aerial systems for the US Army’s chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) operations. The procurement includes more than 45 drones equipped with semi-autonomous search and reconnaissance capabilities, enabling dismounted soldiers to assess and survey contaminated areas more safely. Each system will be fitted with Teledyne FLIR’s MUVE B330 biological sensor as well as additional CBRN payloads to enhance real-time detection, identification, and monitoring of hazardous threats.
