Israel has awarded Elbit Systems contracts valued at approximately $200 million for advanced airborne munitions.
According to Elbit, the agreements were issued by the Israel Ministry of Defense as part of “Operation Roaring Lion,” the country’s ongoing military campaign involving Iran.
The contracts cover a range of air-launched munitions intended to support the Israeli Air Force in strike operations and maintaining air superiority. While specific systems were not disclosed, the company noted that the munitions fall within its portfolio of advanced, high-performance technologies.
CEO Bezhalel Machlis stated that Elbit’s precision-guided and reliable solutions contribute significantly to the Air Force’s operational edge.
Israel has also continued to expand its procurement of munitions from both domestic and international suppliers. In April, the Ministry of Defense signed a $48 million contract with Elbit for the supply of tens of thousands of locally produced 155 mm artillery shells.
This followed a $183 million contract awarded in January for additional air munitions to replenish inventories over the coming years, as well as two more agreements worth $260 million signed in August 2025.
In November 2025, Israel also procured Tamir surface-to-air missiles from the Raytheon–Rafael Advanced Defense Systems joint venture under a $1.25 billion deal.
These procurements reflect a broader increase in defense spending, including an $827 million emergency budget allocation approved in March for additional military acquisitions.
