Adani Defence & Aerospace has commenced construction of a ₹4,500 crore integrated missile and propellant manufacturing facility in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, with the foundation stone officially laid for what is expected to become South Asia’s largest privately operated missile production complex. The ceremony was attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and senior officials from the Adani Group.

The upcoming facility is designed to support the complete missile production cycle, from raw material processing to the manufacture of fully assembled medium- and long-range missile systems. In addition to missile assembly, the complex will manufacture composite propellants, TNT, and other defence-grade explosive materials, creating an integrated defence manufacturing ecosystem. The project is expected to be completed within the next three years and is projected to generate nearly 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

More than 50 specialised Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are expected to become part of the facility’s supply chain, strengthening the domestic defence industrial base. Spread across a 103-acre site near Pali village in Shivpuri’s Kolaras region, the complex benefits from its strategic location at the intersection of the Kota Highway and the Mumbai–Gwalior Highway, facilitating efficient transportation of defence equipment and critical materials.

The new missile manufacturing complex will complement Adani Defence’s existing small arms production facility in Gwalior, which recently delivered 2,000 indigenously manufactured Prahar Light Machine Guns (LMGs) to the Indian Armed Forces ahead of schedule. Together, the two facilities are expected to establish the Gwalior-Chambal region as a major centre for defence manufacturing and innovation in India.
