Finland, Norway, and Latvia have signed a statement of intent to adopt Patria’s TRACKX all-terrain platform, strengthening multinational cooperation in the development and acquisition of next-generation land mobility solutions.
Developed under the European Union-backed Future Highly Mobile Augmented Armored Systems (FAMOUS) programme, TRACKX is designed as a lightweight tracked armored vehicle that offers partner nations a highly mobile alternative for diverse operational environments.
The agreement, signed during the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, enables the three countries to exchange field trial data, coordinate future development activities, and evaluate opportunities for joint procurement to support their respective armed forces.
According to Patria, the collaboration could pave the way for serial production and procurement beginning in 2027.
The company added that the initiative builds upon the success of its Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, which has improved interoperability and streamlined armored vehicle procurement among participating European and NATO nations.
TRACKX Capabilities
The TRACKX measures approximately 7 meters (23 feet) in length and has a combat weight of 15 metric tons (33,069 pounds). The vehicle accommodates up to 10 troops, in addition to a driver and commander.
Designed for demanding operational environments, TRACKX features NATO-standard ballistic and mine protection, is optimized for Arctic operations, and possesses amphibious capability, allowing it to traverse water obstacles.
Power is provided by a Caterpillar 7.1-liter diesel engine generating around 360 horsepower, enabling a top road speed of 80 km/h (50 mph), an operational range of 500 kilometers (311 miles), and an amphibious speed of approximately 4 km/h (2 mph).
