Airbus Defence and Space will establish a new A330 MRTT conversion facility in Seville, Spain, to support rising global demand for military tanker aircraft. The site will handle the conversion of commercial A330 airliners into Multi Role Tanker Transport platforms, as well as maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities for existing fleets. Airbus plans to open the facility by 2027, increasing annual conversion capacity from five to seven aircraft. The expansion is expected to create hundreds of jobs while strengthening Spain’s role in Airbus’ military aviation operations.
