Leidos has secured a $456-million contract to continue operating Military OneSource, the US Department of Defense’s main support program for service members and their families.

The four-year award, issued through the General Services Administration, keeps Leidos responsible for managing services that provide 24/7 counseling, relocation assistance, spouse employment support, tax resources, and deployment-related aid.

More than 4.7 million military personnel and family members use the program for confidential assistance through phone and live chat platforms.

Military OneSource serves as a centralized support hub designed to ease the challenges military families face during frequent relocations, deployments, and career transitions.

In addition to counseling services, the platform also offers caregiver assistance and financial planning resources.

US Expands Military Family Support

The contract follows broader US efforts over the past two years to strengthen support programs for troops and military families, particularly in areas such as mental health care, housing stability, and financial security.

In 2025, the Pentagon expanded the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) initiative and introduced MCCYN-PLUS to address child care shortages in areas lacking accredited providers.

In 2024, the department also enhanced financial and relocation benefits by allowing service members to allocate up to $3,200 in pre-tax income for medical expenses and by increasing temporary lodging support during moves.
