Kuwait’s military modernization includes the procurement of the NASAMS air defense platform, developed by Kongsberg and Raytheon. The system strengthens national defense by providing multi-layered protection against airborne threats including drones, aircraft, and cruise missiles. It integrates radar networks, command-and-control systems, and mobile missile launchers to deliver fast and accurate interception capability. NASAMS is already deployed in several allied nations and is known for its flexibility and combat effectiveness. Kuwait’s adoption of this system is intended to improve protection of key infrastructure, military installations, and populated areas from modern aerial attacks.
