Israeli defense firm SMARTSHOOTER has received a contract worth 5.8 million Israeli new shekels (approximately $1.9 million) from the Israel Ministry of Defense to supply its SMASH Hopper remotely operated weapon stations.

Equipment deliveries are scheduled to commence before the end of 2026, with the agreement also including a six-month option for additional spare parts and support services based on operational requirements. If all contract options are exercised, the total value could increase to 7.4 million shekels (around $2.5 million).

The SMASH Hopper is a lightweight, stand-off weapon platform designed for both stationary and mobile deployments. Weighing approximately 25 kilograms (55 pounds), the system can be mounted on light tactical vehicles and unmanned platforms, supporting missions such as border protection, urban warfare, and critical infrastructure defense.

The platform is compatible with existing command-and-control architectures and can operate in coordination with other weapon systems. It is supplied with a tripod, battery pack, tilt mechanism, remote trigger, SMASH fire-control unit, and a Picatinny rail interface for M4 5.56 mm and DMR 7.62 mm rifles.

Operationally, the system is capable of engaging ground targets at ranges of up to 800 meters (2,625 feet) and aerial threats at distances of up to 600 meters (1,969 feet).
