Theon International, headquartered in Cyprus, has signed an agreement with OCCAR to deliver IRIS-C thermal clip-on systems to the German and Belgian armed forces.

The contract is valued at about 50 million euros ($58.7 million), with an additional 150 million euros ($176 million) option. Shipments will take place from 2026 to 2027, supported by Andres Industries in Germany, which will handle servicing and sustainment.

The IRIS-C is engineered to add thermal imaging capabilities to existing optical sights. It works with both Theon’s own and third-party night vision devices, enabling operators to better identify and track targets under varying conditions.

Through integration with Theon’s Smart Battery Pack or Smart Gateway, the system can overlay augmented reality features, including IFF (identification friend or foe), mission data, and targeting information, all synchronized with modern Battle Management Systems.
