QinetiQ has secured a five-year contract extension from the UK Ministry of Defence to continue delivering mission-critical support for the Royal Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon fleet.

Valued at £205 million ($275 million), the agreement focuses on advanced engineering services designed to sustain aircraft capability, enhance pilot safety, and reduce the time and cost required to return Typhoons to operational readiness.

The contract also provides core technical support to the UK armed forces and international Typhoon customers, with QinetiQ employing AI-enabled and digital engineering tools to accelerate delivery and improve efficiency.

As part of the agreement, QinetiQ will invest £10 million ($13 million) to further expand the use of artificial intelligence and digital engineering across Typhoon sustainment and other support services for the British military, building on collaborations with UK-based AI companies.

Delivery of the work will be managed through the Aurora Engineering Delivery Partnership, a QinetiQ-led consortium that includes Atkins, BMT, Frazer-Nash, KBR, and more than 380 additional companies providing engineering services to the Ministry of Defence.

The Eurofighter Typhoon serves as the RAF’s primary air-defence fighter and a key frontline combat aircraft, tasked with safeguarding UK airspace and supporting overseas operations.

The platform is expected to remain in RAF service into the 2040s, operating alongside the UK’s F-35 Lightning II fleet.
