Embraer has concluded a comprehensive service agreement to deliver maintenance, logistics, and technical support for the Hungarian Air Force’s C-390 Millennium transport fleet.
Under the agreement, Embraer will leverage its European support network to sustain Hungary’s two C-390 aircraft, making the country the second NATO member to operate the platform.
Beyond strategic airlift, the C-390 Millennium is configured for a broad mission spectrum, including medical evacuation, humanitarian assistance, search and rescue, cargo and troop transport, precision airdrop, paratrooper deployment, and air-to-air refueling operations.
Hungary’s C-390 fleet also includes a world-first modular roll-on/roll-off medical intensive care unit, enabling rapid mission reconfiguration between transport, evacuation, and medical support roles.
Embraer said the agreement builds on the aircraft’s strong operational reliability, noting that the first C-390 platform has maintained a mission completion rate exceeding 99 percent since entering service. The support package is designed to preserve this performance as the Hungarian Air Force increases operational tempo and mission diversity.
The partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between Embraer and Hungary, marked by key acquisition and support milestones.
In November 2020, Hungary signed a contract with Embraer for two C-390 Millennium aircraft in air-to-air refueling configuration, including pilot and technician training, logistical services, and long-term support.
The first aircraft arrived at Kecskemét Air Base in September 2024, where it entered service alongside existing air mobility assets and began supporting missions such as air-to-air refueling for Saab Gripen fighters.
Following the delivery of the second aircraft in November 2025, Hungary became the first C-390 operator worldwide to complete delivery of its full contracted fleet.
