Denmark has officially entered the final stage of its involvement in the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program by signing the initiative’s three key concluding agreements: the Research and Development (R&D) Agreement, the Framework Agreement, and the Life Cycle Management (LCM) Agreement.
These signings follow Denmark’s initial accession to the program in April 2025 through a Technical Arrangement with the other participating nations.
As part of this advancement, Denmark confirmed the acquisition of 129 Patria 6×6 armored vehicles—also known as XA-300—from Finnish manufacturer Patria.
The contract, worth approximately 1.9 billion Danish kroner (€247 million), is financed through the Danish government’s Accelerationsfonden.
A small batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered before the end of 2025 to support training and familiarization, with full-scale deliveries beginning in 2026 to bolster the modernization of Denmark’s armed forces.
