RTX subsidiary Collins Aerospace has entered into three-year agreements to enhance sustainment support for C-130 Hercules wheels and brakes.

The contracts, signed with Integrated Procurement Technologies, S3 AeroDefense, and Derco, focus on strengthening logistics, improving hardware availability, and providing long-term lifecycle support. Collectively, these efforts are intended to boost fleet readiness and ensure faster supply responsiveness over the next three years.

Collins’ wheels and brakes, which incorporate DURACARB technology, are currently installed on more than 30,000 commercial and military aircraft worldwide. Reliable access to these components is critical for U.S. and allied C-130 operators, supporting missions ranging from combat logistics to humanitarian assistance.

Sustainment and modernization initiatives for the C-130 fleet have remained a priority for the U.S. and partner nations in recent years. In January, Lockheed Martin’s Derco was awarded a new performance-based logistics contract by the Defense Logistics Agency to improve spare parts availability while managing inventory and engineering support for the Hercules platform.

The U.S. government has also reinforced allied C-130 operations through aircraft transfer programs. Notably, the Philippine Air Force received a C-130H transport aircraft under the U.S. Excess Defense Articles program in February 2024, enhancing regional airlift and humanitarian response capabilities.
