Estonia-based Frankenburg Technologies and Poland’s Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) have entered into a framework agreement to manufacture the Mark I anti-drone missile system in Poland, marking a significant step in expanding local defence production capabilities.
As part of the agreement, a dedicated production facility will be established with an annual capacity of up to 10,000 missiles. The Mark I system, developed by Frankenburg in just 13 months using commercially available components, was first demonstrated in December. It is designed to intercept fast-moving unmanned aerial threats traveling at speeds of up to 200 km/h, with an operational range of 2 kilometers. The missile supports both fire-and-forget and lock-on-after-launch modes, ensuring effectiveness in all-weather conditions.
The partnership also sets the stage for future developments, including the Mark II variant, which is expected to extend engagement ranges to between 5 and 8 kilometers, strengthening layered air defence capabilities.
Building on an earlier agreement signed in November, the collaboration will focus on joint development, production, and global marketing of counter-UAS and air defence solutions. It also aims to boost Poland’s defence industrial base, enhancing domestic manufacturing capacity and long-term investment in national security infrastructure.
