Sweden has signed a long-term procurement deal with Dynamit Nobel Defence for the SKORPION2 remote mine-laying system. The system significantly enhances defensive capabilities by enabling rapid deployment of anti-tank minefields to block or redirect enemy armored advances. It is designed for flexible use across multiple platforms, including ground vehicles and unmanned carriers. SKORPION2 can quickly establish dense minefields by deploying hundreds of mines in a short period of time. It uses advanced AT2+ smart mines equipped with digital control systems and improved armor penetration features. The adoption of this system reflects a broader European trend toward modernizing battlefield defense and improving coordination among allied militaries.
