Under a proposed sole-source contract, Raytheon will continue providing sustainment support for the US Army’s ITAS and MITAS systems through the end of the decade. The effort includes spare-parts supply, field-service deployment, information support, and overall logistics management for both US military branches and future foreign military sales customers. The Army cited Raytheon’s unique expertise as the original developer of the system, making it the only responsible source for the requirement. ITAS serves as the guidance and targeting component for the BGM-71 TOW missile, improving target acquisition through advanced optics, thermal sensors, and digital processing technologies.
