Hyundai Heavy Industries has launched the BRP Diego Silang (FFG-07), the second Miguel Malvar-class missile corvette for the Philippine Navy, in a ceremony held in Ulsan, South Korea. The ship is part of a 2021 contract for two new vessels intended to bolster the fleet alongside existing Jose Rizal-class frigates, also constructed by Hyundai. The launch marked the corvette’s first transition from dry dock to water.
