ASFAT, Türkiye’s government-owned naval contractor, has secured a milestone deal to produce the country’s first locally-designed air defense destroyer, the TF-2000, and four new patrol vessels.
With a service life exceeding 40 years, the 149-meter TF-2000 will be outfitted with a wide array of weapons and electronics for multi-domain missions.
Powered by combined diesel and gas engines, it will reach speeds of 26 knots and operate autonomously for up to 45 days.
The platform will serve roles across air and maritime defense, special ops, and intelligence gathering.
