Anduril Industries has announced the acquisition of American Infrared Solutions (AIRS) to advance its infrared sensor technology and expand its ability to produce high-performance cooled cameras for customers across defense, space, and industry.
Through the acquisition, AIRS’ suite of cooled infrared imaging products will be integrated into Anduril’s mission and autonomy systems, supporting enhanced thermal detection capabilities across all operational environments.
AIRS will maintain its New Hampshire facilities, continuing to serve external clients while strengthening Anduril’s domestic manufacturing base and supply chain security.
By combining AIRS’ sensor expertise with Anduril’s AI and autonomous software, the company aims to deliver next-generation imaging systems for defense modernization programs.
Infrared and multispectral cameras are increasingly vital to global defense operations—featured on systems such as the US Army’s Reaper and Gray Eagle UAVs, the US Navy’s AN/AAS-44C pod, and anti-drone turrets including MX-GCS and Boson+—demonstrating the growing demand for precision thermal sensing technology.
