India has placed a significant new order for ideaForge’s latest unmanned aerial systems after the platforms successfully completed rigorous trials under electronic warfare and high-altitude conditions.
The agreement covers the delivery of the next-generation Zolt tactical drone and the SWITCH 2 VTOL UAV under a capital emergency procurement valued at about 1 billion rupees ($11.3 million).
Zolt represents roughly 750 million rupees ($8.5 million) of the contract following demanding field evaluations in heavily jammed environments, while SWITCH 2 received a 300-million-rupee ($3.39 million) follow-on order.
Far from routine replenishment, the purchase aligns with India’s broader effort to enhance ISR and precision-delivery capabilities along contested borders. Designed for long-range surveillance and precision payload operations, Zolt reflects this shift.
ideaForge has continued expanding within India’s defense and security sectors. In June 2025, it secured a 1.37-billion-rupee ($16 million) emergency contract for mini UAS, with deliveries scheduled within 12 months.
Outside the military, agencies including the National Disaster Response Force, state police forces, and infrastructure departments use ideaForge drones for mapping, search-and-rescue, and asset monitoring.
