DroneShield has secured a new $6.2 million defense contract to supply advanced counter-drone capabilities to a military customer in the Asia-Pacific, underlining the region’s growing urgency to counter the expanding threat posed by unmanned aerial systems to bases, airspace, and critical infrastructure.
Announced via an Australian Securities Exchange filing dated December 30, 2025, the contract will be fully executed in 2026 and marks another step in the Indo-Pacific’s transition toward integrated airspace defense frameworks. Delivery will be managed through a locally based reseller owned by a major global defense prime, ensuring seamless integration into the procurement pipeline of a leading regional armed force.
The agreement includes a mix of third-party hardware and DroneShield’s DroneSentry-C2 platform, a software-first command-and-control solution engineered to operate within existing air defense and sensor networks. This emphasis on scalability and interoperability reflects shifting regional requirements for adaptable systems capable of addressing fast-evolving drone and UAV threats.
Since 2023, DroneShield has received 14 orders totaling more than $48 million through the same reseller, pointing to a durable working relationship and continued confidence in its technology. Although future orders are not contractually obligated, the recurring nature of the procurements indicates that the systems are likely being incorporated into long-term force structure and airspace surveillance programs.
With the misuse of commercial drones and the proliferation of tactical UAVs accelerating worldwide, Asia-Pacific militaries face mounting pressure to protect increasingly congested airspace. Industry observers view this deal as further confirmation that counter-UAS capabilities are now a core element of modern air defense planning. For DroneShield, the contract strengthens its standing as a provider of integrated, software-driven air defense solutions with growing relevance beyond the Australian market.
