Red Cat Holdings has revealed that an unnamed customer in the Asia-Pacific region has selected its Black Widow small unmanned aircraft system. Deliveries of an undisclosed number of systems are expected to take place later this year.

Each system package consists of two Black Widow aircraft, a ground control station, and supporting mission equipment. The company noted that this marks the second recent military procurement of the Black Widow by an Asia-Pacific customer.

Designed for tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, the Black Widow features a compact and rugged airframe suitable for operations in challenging environments. It is equipped with a secure communications architecture tailored for military use.

In its standard configuration, the UAV weighs approximately 1.93 kilograms and can reach speeds of up to 47 kilometers per hour. The platform offers an endurance exceeding 50 minutes and an operational range of around 8 kilometers, making it suitable for short- and medium-range ISR tasks. For enhanced situational awareness, the system can integrate Reveal Farsight 3D mapping software, enabling real-time generation of three-dimensional terrain data, along with target identification and tracking functions.
