LightPath Technologies Inc. has secured a $9.6 million contract to deliver cooled infrared camera systems to an existing customer supporting defense and security operations.

The ordered systems feature integrated cooling technology designed to reduce the devices’ thermal signature while preserving high imaging performance during dynamic missions.

Based in Orlando, the company stated that its solutions are engineered for dependable, all-weather surveillance and security applications, emphasizing durability and operational simplicity.

Production will take place at LightPath’s facilities in Florida and New Hampshire, with deliveries to the defense client scheduled to continue through 2026.

Backed by New Subsidiary

The contract follows LightPath’s acquisition of G5 Infrared in February, a move that strengthened its thermal imaging and precision optics offerings for tactical use.

Founded in 2011 in Hudson, New Hampshire, G5 Infrared was acquired for $27 million in a cash-and-stock transaction.

The subsidiary generated approximately $15 million in profit in fiscal year 2024, with earnings projected to rise in the years ahead.
