RTX Corporation’s Raytheon unit has been awarded a $3.7 billion contract to replenish Guidance Enhanced Missile–Tactical (GEM-T) interceptors for Ukraine’s MIM-104 Patriot air defense system. The interceptors are intended to enhance the system’s ability to protect troops and critical infrastructure against a wide spectrum of aerial threats, including tactical ballistic missiles.
Production will be carried out at RTX’s facility in Schrobenhausen, Germany, supported by COMLOG—a joint venture between Raytheon and MBDA Deutschland. The site will not only support deliveries to Ukraine but also facilitate direct commercial procurements by allied nations alongside ongoing missile supply efforts for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukraine first deployed the US-made Patriot system in 2023 and confirmed an additional batch of interceptors from partner countries in April 2026. The country currently operates around 10 Patriot batteries, comprising roughly 60 launchers and 600 missiles. Globally, the Patriot system is in service with 19 countries.
