L3Harris Technologies has secured multiple US Army orders valued at $84 million to supply additional Falcon AN/PRC-158C manpack radios in support of the Army’s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) initiative. The procurement is part of the Army’s broader effort to modernize command-and-control capabilities by digitizing mission systems and creating a more connected decision-making network that links commanders and frontline forces in real time.

The AN/PRC-158C is a software-defined gateway radio designed to provide secure communications across multiple waveforms and operational environments. Housed in a lightweight package, the system features a dual-channel receiver covering frequencies from 30 MHz to 2,500 MHz, enabling reliable beyond-line-of-sight voice and data communications. The latest award follows an initial $24 million contract issued in October 2025, which established the Falcon radio as a key communications backbone for NGC2, ensuring seamless connectivity between sensors, shooters, and battle management systems.
