As unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) take on greater roles in reconnaissance, logistics, surveillance, and combat support, the need for compact and dependable communication systems is becoming increasingly critical. Addressing this requirement, Exicom Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. has introduced the Condor Lite IW, a lightweight tactical communication system designed to deliver resilient connectivity while minimizing size, weight, and power (SWaP) demands.
Built for integration into compact robotic platforms, the Condor Lite IW preserves vehicle endurance and payload capacity without compromising communication performance. The system combines Mesh networking with bidirectional Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) technology, enabling UGVs to maintain reliable links with operators and command centres even in contested or line-of-sight-denied environments.
Mesh networking allows multiple platforms to relay data dynamically, extending operational range and maintaining connectivity even when network links are disrupted. Meanwhile, bidirectional COFDM ensures stable transmission of video, telemetry, and command data in environments affected by signal reflections, interference, and high mobility, making it well suited for urban combat, rugged terrain, and complex battlefield conditions.
The lightweight design supports real-time situational awareness and remote control during missions such as intelligence gathering, explosive ordnance disposal, border security, convoy protection, and operations in GPS-denied environments. As defence forces continue to adopt autonomous ground systems, compact communication solutions like the Condor Lite IW are expected to play a vital role in enabling network-centric warfare by providing secure, resilient, and high-performance connectivity across future battlefields.
