RTX’s Raytheon has achieved a major milestone in the development of the Stinger replacement by successfully testing its Next Generation Short Range Interceptor (NGSRI) against simulated airborne threats. During the demonstration, multiple NGSRI missiles detected, tracked, and intercepted their designated targets, proving the effectiveness of the system’s integrated guidance and engagement capabilities. The soldier-portable weapon combines a Command Launch Assembly with a precision-optics missile seeker and a high-energy solid rocket motor developed by Lockheed Martin.
