Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has secured a contract to develop an all-in-one remote weapon system that combines a laser-guided rocket with a machine gun, enhancing Australia’s capabilities to counter the growing threat posed by unmanned aerial systems.
Known as the R400 SLINGER, the advanced remote weapon system is specifically designed to defeat small- and medium-sized drones, providing armed forces with a versatile and scalable solution against evolving aerial threats.
EOS will manufacture and support the R400 SLINGER entirely in Australia, strengthening the country’s sovereign defence industrial base while boosting local manufacturing and long-term sustainment capabilities.
