The Air National Guard is assessing immersive simulation technology to create more realistic and effective defense training experiences.

A Pennsylvania-based Air National Guard unit will evaluate Virtuix’s AI-powered Omni One virtual reality (VR) system as part of broader efforts to explore advanced immersive technologies for military readiness. During the assessment, the unit will determine whether the platform can improve training outcomes by combining AI-generated scenarios with full-body movement in lifelike operational settings.

Omni One integrates an omnidirectional treadmill with a VR headset and motion-tracking accessories, enabling users to walk, run, crouch, kneel, and change direction naturally within virtual environments. Unlike traditional controller-based VR systems, it converts physical movement directly into the simulated world.

Designed for defense applications, the system can support mission planning, tactical rehearsals, and scenario-based exercises by allowing personnel to physically navigate virtual operational environments before conducting live drills.

This evaluation represents Virtuix’s first deployment with the Air National Guard and further expands the company’s footprint across the US military. It follows several recent defense initiatives, including an AFWERX contract for the Virtual Terrain Walk battlefield rehearsal platform, a virtual infantry training project with the US Marine Corps, and deployments at the US Military Academy at West Point.
