The US Navy has selected Defense Unicorns to move into the next evaluation phase of a rapid capabilities program managed by Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic. The platform will transition from laboratory testing to operational evaluations aboard naval ships and shore facilities.Engineers will assess deployment capability, software management, reliability, scalability, and performance within secure military networks, including air-gapped environments without direct internet access. The results will support future procurement decisions and possible fleet-wide adoption. The evaluation follows Defense Unicorns’ successful prototype demonstration under the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services Next Generation program. The company demonstrated its Unified Defense Stack (UDS), which enables rapid hardware configuration and software deployment in shipboard environments.UDS includes two major components: UDS Enterprise for standardized software deployment and management, and UDS Fleet for managing infrastructure and applications across multiple ships and shore locations.
