The British Army has received its 100th UK-built Boxer infantry fighting vehicle, marking another milestone in the country’s armored vehicle modernization program. The delivery comes nearly a year after the first of 623 Boxer vehicles entered service in August 2025 under a £5-billion ($6.1-billion) modernization initiative that also includes 148 Challenger 3 main battle tanks, with full operational capability expected by 2030.

The Boxer program is being delivered through a partnership involving OCCAR, ARTEC, and the National Armaments Director Group, with production carried out by the Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) joint venture in Telford and KNDS UK in Stockport.

Designed for the British Army’s Strike Brigades, the modular 8×8 Boxer platform is intended to rapidly transport troops and mission-specific equipment across challenging terrain. The vehicle measures approximately 8 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 2 meters high, accommodates 11 personnel, reaches speeds of up to 103 kilometers (64 miles) per hour, and offers an operational range of 1,050 kilometers (652 miles).
