India is developing a new 300-kilowatt directed-energy weapon (DEW) capable of engaging and neutralizing emerging threats at ranges of up to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles).

The system combines advanced beam-generation technology with high-gain supersonic nozzles, centrifugal bubble-based subsystems, and a sealed exhaust management mechanism.

To support long-range target engagement, the DEW incorporates a precision beam-control system alongside a 60-centimeter (23.6-inch) output aperture designed to ensure stable and accurate beam propagation.
