General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) Canada has unveiled the Grizzly, a new 10×10 self-propelled artillery platform that could play a key role in the Canadian Army’s future long-range firepower modernization plans. Developed in partnership with KNDS Deutschland, the vehicle integrates a 155mm artillery system mounted on a highly mobile chassis, combining strategic mobility with enhanced battlefield fire support capabilities.
The Grizzly is equipped with an unmanned turret featuring a fully automated loading and ammunition-handling system, reducing crew workload while improving survivability during combat operations. By keeping personnel protected inside the vehicle throughout firing missions, the platform is designed to deliver rapid, accurate, and sustained artillery support while minimizing exposure to enemy threats.
