Australia has successfully completed a live-fire trial of its developmental Medium-Range Ground-Based Air Defense (MRGBAD) prototype, demonstrating the integrated performance of its key systems during an operational engagement. The test was conducted during Exercise Taipan Strike 26 at the Woomera Test Range and was led by Lockheed Martin in collaboration with the US Navy. During the demonstration, a CEA Technologies radar detected and tracked a representative aerial threat before relaying targeting information to an expeditionary version of the virtualized Aegis Weapon System, validating the system’s end-to-end engagement process.
