As airborne threats become more advanced and place greater pressure on short-range air defense systems, Northrop Grumman is developing a new gun-based solution to provide an additional layer of protection.
Known as Raid Hunter Gun-Based Air Defense, the system integrates networked controllers, advanced battle-management capabilities, Chain Gun technology, and 50mm ammunition.
The system is designed to use guided projectiles, a high rate of fire, large ammunition capacity, and rapid reloading to enable sustained engagements against a range of airborne threats.
